Honey

2-20-24

Did you know that honey is used as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial. It is also said to be a powerful wound treatment. John the Baptist made a feast on locusts and wild honey. My Twin and I stayed at our Grandparent's house a lot growing up and would have biscuits, butter and honey for dessert a lot of times. Just the thought of that brings back such good memories. Recently, we were in Knoxville, TN at a Farmer's Market and I purchased some local honey from Old Bailey Farms. Oh so delicious.  It was a beautiful day to be out and about. I had brought my little Granddaughter Brooklyn with me. She had such a good day. She was so tired at the end of the day. I was thinking about honey being beneficial for healing. So is a kind word, a good deed or forgiveness. I recently found this true about forgiveness. I had not forgiven someone who had wronged me 23 years ago. I hated this man. Because of his lies and deceit, I was almost destroyed along with my Son. Over the years I thought I had forgiven this person. Especially on New Years Eve as the clock would edge closer to midnight. I thought "out with the old and in with the new " but each year I would have the hated slowly creep back in. The fact is, it had never left. I started praying somewhere back last Fall to finally be free of this. God kept giving me dreams or talking to this person, or seeing them and I noticed that it wasn't any longer a nightmare or waking up drenching wet with sweat with my heart racing. I woke up and simply remembered the dream and that was all. That's when I knew my prayer had been answered and I finally let myself forgive him.
